*Navan AC ladies Meath championship medal winners!*
Navan AC were out in force today in Kildalkey with 12 of our athletes in action at the Fr Murphy 10k road race which also incorporated the Meath Road Race championships.
Our ladies team captured 3rd place in the county championship and brought home some bronze medals to admire while they tucked into their Easter eggs this evening. Not content with only a team prize Mary Watters finished 2nd overall in the Meath Championships and 1st in her category while Patricia also collected a silver medal for her category in what was her first 10k. There were PB’s for Theresa Lynch and Rosaleen Kerins who broke 60 minutes while Ruth Daly reached a new milestone running in a 10k race for the first time.
With the promise of an Easter Egg for anyone who broke 40 minutes Keith Russell wasn’t waiting around and flew around the course destroying his PB to dip under 39 minutes with Barry following almost a minute later. Ben White and Ciaran Kelly ran well and there were new PB’s for James Sherlock, Brendan Hurley and Declan Kearns with Declan running so fast that the timing mat at the finish couldn’t keep up.
A special mention to our support crew of Mairead Hurley and Pat Lynch for the photographs and encouragement along the route.
Well done everyone. Results available at http://chipit.ie/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Fr-murphy-10k-results.pdf.
