Navan AC had 2 athletes competing in the St Brigid’s 5k Road Race in Oldcastle on Wednesday 17th July. Ciara Rooney finished 2nd Junior Female in a time of 20:44 while Marie Reilly was 4th in the Female O/50 category running a time of 24:02.
Meath Athletics are promoting an Athletics Development Evening in Claremont Stadium, Navan, on Tuesday 23rd July, from 6.30pm to 9.00pm.
The events being covered are Hurdles, Starting Technique using Blocks and Javelin.
Brian Corcoran, Tom Clinton and Philip Cogavin will be the lead coaches on the night.
Participants in the Javelin should bring their own throwing implements, if available.
A Javelin Beginners session will be from 6.30 to 7.30pm, with a Javelin Improvers session from 7.30pm.
All are welcome, athletes and coaches.
Juvenile training finishes Tuesday 16th July and will return on Tuesday 3rd September.
Technique training for the Hurdles, Starts and Javelin will take place at the Navan AC track at Claremont Stadium from 6.30 – 9.00 on Tuesday 23th July for athletes from U11 upwards with coaches Brian Corcoran and Tom Clinton.
The National Juvenile Track & Field Championships took place in Tullamore over the weekend with a number of Navan AC athletes competing. Results below:

CONGRATULATIONS to all the ladies from Navan AC who qualified. The nationals continue on 20th and 21st July.
Aisling Watters competed in the Woodie’s DIY Irish junior and U23 championships at Tullamore on Sunday 30th June 2013. In the U/23 100m Hurdles Aisling was 2nd in a time of 16.42. She also placed 6th in the U/23 100m sprint in 12.99.
Karen Blaney also competed in Tullamore. She was 4th in the Junior Long Jump with a jump of 4.65 metres and also 4th in the Junior Triple Jump (10.00 metres).
Mary Watters has also been busy running in 3 races over the last week where she was 1st female O/50 in the Dunshaughlin 10k, BHAA Prison Service 5k trail race in the Phoenix Park as well as the St Coca’s 5k road race in Kilcock.
